Overview

The M.Tech program in Power Electronics and Drives enables graduates to Develop knowledge and analytical skills in areas such as advanced power electronics, electrical drives, power systems, FACTS, Electric Vehicles, microgrids, smart grids and AI applications in Power Electronics & Drives. They are able to design, model and optimize complex electrical systems using modern tools while addressing real-world challenges. The program also fosters research aptitude, innovation, and the ability to implement sustainable and efficient energy solutions. Graduates demonstrate professional ethics, effective communication, and readiness for lifelong learning in evolving power and energy sectors.

The program emphasizes core areas such as advanced manufacturing, thermal engineering, design engineering and interdisciplinary research aligned with industry and societal needs.

Graduates of the program are well prepared for careers in research organizations, higher education institutions, product development industries and doctoral studies.

In Semester III, students are required to undertake two online credit course

One on Research Methodology, Research & Publication Ethics, or IPR,
Another course recommended by their faculty advisor or project supervisor.
