<p>Electronics and telecommunication engineering is one of the largest and fastest-growing fields of engineering. Having qualified and trained professionals in this field are the need of the hour. Currently, the department offers 1. The Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree (undergraduate) and 2. The Ph.D. degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. This department was established during the inception of the institute in 1994. Further details regarding UG course contents, department strength, achievements, etc. are available in "Brochure" which can be downloaded from the link available at the end of this document.</p>',

UG Program:</strong></span> Recognition at National Level The Bachelor of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Program was first accredited in 2006 and then re-accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi, for the period of two years in 2012. The department will be applying for the next NBA accreditation in July-2018. R&D Achievement of the EXTC department: The EXTC department is the recipient of the research grant worth GBP 50000.0 (≈ INR 50.0 lacs) from the prestigious “Royal Academy of Engineering, UK” for a collaborative research proposal among FCRIT & RIL from India and the University of Leeds & PSR Ltd. from the UK. The title of the research project is “Formulation of Hot -Face Refractory of an Entrained Flow Gasifier”. The grant was sanctioned in April 2016 and the project is expected to be completed in August 2018. Apart from this the department regularly receives minor research grants worth around Rs. 1.0 lac every year from the University of Mumbai. UG Course Content The BE program aims at providing a strong foundation in theoretical, practical and design aspects of electronics & telecommunication engineering. The curriculum covers all areas of electronics & telecommunication engineering under the broad categories of basic electronic circuits, electronic devices, analog and digital integrated circuits, microwave devices/engineering, analog and digital communication, microprocessors & microcontrollers, embedded systems, signal processing, fibre optic communication, computer communication network and internet communication engineering. The syllabus comprises theory and laboratory courses under these categories. Most of the theory courses have a laboratory component, which provides a balanced mix of quality teaching of theoretical concepts and experimental verification of the learnt concepts. There are exclusive laboratory course projects aimed at imparting software simulation and hardware design knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits. The laboratory course projects and final year project work in the syllabus provide opportunities to the students to simulate/develop new electronic/communication systems useful for real-life applications. <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>B</strong><strong>. Ph.D. Program:</strong></span> Introduction: Welcome to the Ph.D. program in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering of Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. This program was introduced in the department in the year 2015-16. The current intake capacity for this program is 10. Why PhD? The greatest advantage of the PhD is that it gives you experience in carrying out detailed research. Your Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees are focused on learning things that are already known, but the PhD teaches you to find out new things, to carry out experiments, report data, and learn from your mistakes. Ideally, you become a subject matter expert in your chosen focus. That puts you in a great position for jobs that require that specific expertise, or where research skills are highly valued. If you want to have your career in academics in that case also you must pursue a Ph.D.</p>',

UG Program:</strong></span> Recognition at National Level The Bachelor of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Program was first accredited in 2006 and then re-accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi, for the period of two years in 2012. The department will be applying for the next NBA accreditation in July-2018. R&D Achievement of the EXTC department: The EXTC department is the recipient of the research grant worth GBP 50000.0 (≈ INR 50.0 lacs) from the prestigious “Royal Academy of Engineering, UK” for a collaborative research proposal among FCRIT & RIL from India and the University of Leeds & PSR Ltd. from the UK. The title of the research project is “Formulation of Hot -Face Refractory of an Entrained Flow Gasifier”. The grant was sanctioned in April 2016 and the project is expected to be completed in August 2018. Apart from this the department regularly receives minor research grants worth around Rs. 1.0 lac every year from the University of Mumbai. UG Course Content The BE program aims at providing a strong foundation in theoretical, practical and design aspects of electronics & telecommunication engineering. The curriculum covers all areas of electronics & telecommunication engineering under the broad categories of basic electronic circuits, electronic devices, analog and digital integrated circuits, microwave devices/engineering, analog and digital communication, microprocessors & microcontrollers, embedded systems, signal processing, fibre optic communication, computer communication network and internet communication engineering. The syllabus comprises theory and laboratory courses under these categories. Most of the theory courses have a laboratory component, which provides a balanced mix of quality teaching of theoretical concepts and experimental verification of the learnt concepts. There are exclusive laboratory course projects aimed at imparting software simulation and hardware design knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits. The laboratory course projects and final year project work in the syllabus provide opportunities to the students to simulate/develop new electronic/communication systems useful for real-life applications. <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>B</strong><strong>. Ph.D. Program:</strong></span> Introduction: Welcome to the Ph.D. program in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering of Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. This program was introduced in the department in the year 2015-16. The current intake capacity for this program is 10. Why PhD? The greatest advantage of the PhD is that it gives you experience in carrying out detailed research. Your Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees are focused on learning things that are already known, but the PhD teaches you to find out new things, to carry out experiments, report data, and learn from your mistakes. Ideally, you become a subject matter expert in your chosen focus. That puts you in a great position for jobs that require that specific expertise, or where research skills are highly valued. The title of the research project is “Formulation of Hot -Face Refractory of an Entrained Flow Gasifier”. The grant was sanctioned in April 2016 and the project is expected to be completed in August 2018. Apart from this the department regularly receives minor research grants worth around Rs. 1.0 lac every year from the University of Mumbai. UG Course Content The BE program aims at providing a strong foundation in theoretical, practical and design aspects of electronics & telecommunication engineering. The curriculum covers all areas of electronics & telecommunication engineering under the broad categories of basic electronic circuits, electronic devices, analog and digital integrated circuits, microwave devices/engineering, analog and digital communication, microprocessors & microcontrollers, embedded systems, signal processing, fibre optic communication, computer communication network and internet communication engineering. The syllabus comprises theory and laboratory courses under these categories. Most of the theory courses have a laboratory component, which provides a balanced mix of quality teaching of theoretical concepts and experimental verification of the learnt concepts. There are exclusive laboratory course projects aimed at imparting software simulation and hardware design knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits. The laboratory course projects and final year project work in the syllabus provide opportunities to the students to simulate/develop new electronic/communication systems useful for real-life applications. <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>B</strong><strong>. Ph.D. Program:</strong></span> Introduction: Welcome to the Ph.D. program in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering of Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. This program was introduced in the department in the year 2015-16. The current intake capacity for this program is 10. Why PhD? The greatest advantage of the PhD is that it gives you experience in carrying out detailed research. Your Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees are focused on learning things that are already known, but the PhD teaches you to find out new things, to carry out experiments, report data, and learn from your mistakes. Ideally, you become a subject matter expert in your chosen focus. That puts you in a great position for jobs that require that specific expertise, or where research skills are highly valued. <p>Electronics and telecommunication engineering is one of the largest and fastest-growing fields of engineering. Having qualified and trained professionals in this field are the need of the hour. Currently, the department offers 1. The Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree (undergraduate) and 2. The Ph.D. degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. This department was established during the inception of the institute in 1994.
