As 2004 graduate, I can confidently state that the graduation study here laid a solid foundation for my career.  All teachers were quite practical in their approach, exhibited in-depth understanding of subject matter and very supportive to guide us through the tough parts of the engineering coursework. There is also a continuous effort to expand and improve upon the facilities to meet the needs of the industry. I have only seen my other classmates excel in their respective careers over the past 15 years.

Four years at FCRIT were very formative for me. The staff helped me to develop a problem-solving mindset that is key to thriving in an engineering environment… and my friends and classmates taught me resilience, creativity, and about loyalty. The environment I experienced, exposed me to many challenges and I faced many failures and successes during my time there. Overall, those four years gave me the leadership and technical skills , as well as maturity and confidence to go out into the world and target my dreams.

Seshail Kamanna [2005 batch ]
Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers Private Limited, Mumbai

MBA from IIT Kharagpur.

The fact that I am in touch with the department faculty and many of my classmates itself is the statement on how much I cherish the learnings and association during those 4 years. The institution has instilled strong foundation in me and many others which have been useful beyond the academics. I have also enrolled my daughter in Agnels School hoping to have the same quality of education as the institute has provided me. On academics, I loved the rigor that the institution offered. This not only helped me focussing on the skills and knowledge but also helped me clear each year without any backlogs and finally score 23rd rank in the Electrical Department at university level. Hope many such students further benefit from the institute.

I have fond memories of my time spent at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Fr. C. R. Institute of Technology from 1995-1999. I recall that ours was the 2nd batch of the B.E. program. It was a time when the Department itself was ramping up with courses, laboratories, and other instructional facilities. This was a formative period and we as students along with our faculties were part of the growth story of the Institution. The Institution felt as an extension of our high school years. A sense of discipline, academic rigor, and a conducive environment helped us to explore the nuances of our field. Our faculties were always approachable and contributed immensely towards our personal and professional growth. The values, morals, ethics, and integrity that were a hallmark of the Institution are valuable traits that we have inherited. These experiences have been a cornerstone in my lifelong learning journey. I wish all the very best to my alma mater.

On the road to success, there are no shortcuts. Fr. C.R.I.T. prepared me for this success, the right way. As a student, I envied my friends from other colleges who looked at Fr. Agnels as a strict college. I never knew that the lessons learned from this college, the teachers and the staff would go such a long way and be a part of my life. Fr. Agnels prepares students for the world which demands nothing but results. You either prepare yourself for the world out there with an institute like Fr. Agnels or succumb to the reality after you step out of the college.

I had the most memorable time studying at Fr.CRIT,Vashi. The faculty was most helpful and guided me at every step in honing my core competencies. I thank all those who guided me for the wonderful experience. To the students I would like to narrate a few lines “Have you ever been at sea in a dense fog, when it seemed as if a tangible white darkness shut you in and the great ship, tense and anxious, groped her way toward the shore with plummet and sounding-line, and you waited with beating heart for something to happen? I was like that ship before joining Agnels, only I was without compass or sounding line, and no way of knowing how near the harbor was. “Light! Give me light!” was the wordless cry of my soul, and the light of love shone on me in that very hour by teachers of Agnels. Thank you for always being there with me with the guiding torch of my life.

Mr. Sanket Korgaonkar (batch 2004)

Completed Masters in Computer Science from Utah State University Working as Senior AI Architect in Stanley Black & Decker Inc.In past he has also experience as Principal Research Engineer in Mars Science Laboratory Simulator. He is a core AI person excelling in deploying explainable ML models in production.

I graduated Fr. Agnels in 2004 and having finished a Masters in Machine Learning spent 8 years developing software. And I have a very important message for my fellow Computer Engineering and IT students. Pick one computer programming language (Java gives most flexibility) and make sure you play around with the entire breadth of features the language offers. Get exposure to all of it and write small code segments exercising each aspect of the language - a set of HelloWorlds if you will. Learn algorithms - learn space and time complexity for each. Make a list of all the algorithms you have studied and put them one by one in a loop on your google calendar. Above all - and this is the most important - code for 20 minutes every single day. This should become second nature almost like brushing. Doesn't matter if you have written the same code before - in fact its extremely important to rehearse your code catalog over and over again. And it will ensure you have a successful career and a stable job in your choice of location.

Mr. Linto Kolanchery (batch 1998)
Senior Director,
Capgemini Sogeti BU

After completing MBA, Linto has got proficiency in domains like Telecom, Mediation, Mobile Commerce and Bespoke Software Development with previous experience in leading IT Software Service Providers like Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Datamatics.

I completed my B.E in Computer Science from FCRIT Vashi exactly 20 years back in 1998- the first batch of Engineering graduates to pass out from this esteemed college. Most of today’s multi-billion-dollar businesses like Google, Amazon, Netflix, AirBnB, Uber are all technology companies with no ‘Assets’ but successful using the Internet and the Mobile Devices. We no longer make “International” phone calls; instead use the Internet and apps like Google Hangouts, Skype, WhatsApp to talk to anyone in the world at any time. However, have your ever thought how we would have got to enjoy this technology advances without us Engineers? If you ask most kids today what an Engineer does – you will get an answer that they either build bridges, buildings, cars and so on. All the technology founders have been successful not just because of their technical skills, but also largely because of their ability to communicate and influence the audience. Lastly, while dreaming about the future, never forget to enjoy ‘Today’. Remember Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda – “ Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift.. that’s why it is called the present. Here is wishing you all the best…. Thanks.

Apart from the obvious choice of a reputed autonomous engineering college in Mumbai, FCRIT was my next best option to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Its reputation was that of a strict institute, demanding military level hard work from its students. Nonetheless, I opted to get into that drill and put myself into a rigorous training right from the first day's morning assembly till the last year's project submission. Looking back, I am absolutely grateful to the peer group, staff, and the management for shaping up a novice machine enthusiast like me into a professional capable of making the world a little more wonderful than the one I took charge of. The fact that some of the class notes are piled up on my work table to this day is a testimonial to my alma mater's excellence.

I truly cherish the time I spent at the EXTC Dept. at FCRIT as a time when I built the strong foundation on which my career stands today. After graduating from the department nearly 15 years ago, I am proud to still be associated with the field of RF and wireless telecommunications. I want to thank the faculty of the department to have put us through such rigorous coursework and prepare us for the future. I've had the opportunity to apply many of the concepts I learned directly for my job and there's nothing more satisfying than that. Finally, I also cherish the bonds of friendship that were developed during this time. Many of us are still in contact even after so many years. I wish the students, faculty, and staff all the very best. I am always available to provide any guidance to students.
