Innovative Teaching Methods

 

Interactive Teaching :

1. All the faculty members are using ICT classrooms to deliver the contents.

2. Students are also encouraged to interact during the lecture hour by getting the doubts clarified on the spot.

3. 80% of the faculty are also using Smart board to deliver the lectures.

Learning Management System (LMS):

While Carrying out teaching activities, 70% of our faculty members use state of the art technology like LMS, where the lecture wise PPTs, reading material, Question Bank, Discussion forum, Quiz, Assignments and University Question Papers are provided online to benefit the students.

Group Discussion :

Group discussions are made among students to emphasis on learning and sharing. Differences in opinions are explicitly marked during discussions. Students are groomed to participate in group discussion in healthy manner by accepting the criticism in positive way. Around 50% of the faculty are using this method.

Students are encouraged for Self-Learning, include:

Collaborative Learning:

1. This approach involves groups of learners working together to solve a problem, complete a task or create a product.

2. The department faculty and students together developed need based projects for our institute

 Flipped Class Room:

1. It is a blended learning strategy with the aim to improve student engagement and outcomes.

2. This method requires students to prepare learning before they meet and engage with peers in purposeful activities.

3. 80% of the faculty members are conducting one or two lectures by using this method.

Project based learning:

  1. Students are encouraged for developing and completing a Mini-projects based on their field of interest during summer vacation after completing IV-SEM exams.

  2. Beginning of the V-Semester they have showcase their work and present in front of panel members (group of 3-4 faculty).

  3. This improves students’ team-work spirit, communication ability (oral & writing). They also learn ethical standards.

  4. We also encourage students to participate in various project development competitions.

  5. Every year more than 20 groups of students are participating in various Hackathons and securing prizes also

Live Case Studies:

1. Live case studies are discussed with students for better understanding of the courses and current trends in the industry.

2. We invite industry experts to discuss about live case studies with group of students.

1. Quizzes are conducted as and when required in the classroom.

2. It helps students to understand the topic in-depth.

3. Using LMS, quizzes are conducted by the faculty.

Expert Lectures:

1. To bridge the gap between syllabus and recent trends in Engineering & Technology, the concept of content beyond syllabus is introduced.

2. Guest/Expert lectures on advanced technologies are conducted for students and faculty.

Problem based Learning:

1. This method has several components like a question that guides an investigation, hands-on learning experiences, and a solution to the question in the form of a presentation.

2. Teachers are active guides for their students during this process.

3. This method forcing the students to think about what they know instead of only knowing.
